The UPS is connected to the mains but, if I switch it on, it does not seem to charge the battery and the alarm is sounding. What I can do?
This may be because the input fuse to the UPS is blown, which makes that really it is not getting power even when connected to the mains. Remove and check the fuse located on the rear panel and marked with the word "FUSE". Note that to remove it, it has a screw system. If the fuse wire seems like cut or the fuse seems like burned, replace it with one of the same features and dimensions (T2AL250V).

Does the D500 have a minimum load rating?
No, it does not. So it works with low-power devices.
Minimum load rating as the threshold at which the UPS considers that there are no connected devices and cuts the power output.
This is a problem when the device being backed-up is a low-power one such as a router, DECT phone, etc.
